Description
On a rolling hill is this beautiful property consisting of the farmhouse of about 450 sqm and the annex of about 150 sqm. The main house was built around an ancient watchtower from the late 1700s, with later additions. On the ground floor the living area, which is accessed both from the many French windows and from a small covered loggia, consists of the large kitchen, typical of country houses, a room used as an American bar, bathroom, a large laundry room, rooms strategically located at the back of the kitchen, a large living room with a nice double fireplace and a study, also with fireplace. The wooden staircase leads to the upper floor which has a large hallway, on one side two double bedrooms, each with private bathroom and on the other side, a master double bedroom with sitting room and a bathroom.
In a slightly detached position the annexe of about 150 sqm, with on the ground floor a covered veranda, a large kitchen, a living room with fireplace and a bathroom. On the first floor, a small hallway separates the master bedroom from a bathroom and the second bedroom which has in a corner a small alcove with a French bed. There are various storage areas in both buildings.
Outdoor space
The farmhouse is surrounded by about 1 hectare of land, fenced and with two driveways. Part of the land is close to the house and kept as a garden, and a small olive grove with about 200 trees that provide a fragrant Tuscan oil. In the most panoramic and distant part of the house is the saltwater pool, 11 m x 5 m, renovated four years ago, surrounded by the travertine deck and a relaxation area equipped with a pergola that can be opened or closed according to needs and climate, and a shower heated by a solar panel.
A large loggia houses an open living area equipped with a kitchen, barbecue, wood-burning oven and a large table, where you can spend evenings with friends. In a secluded area is another pergola that can accommodate up to six cars.
Condition and finishes
The farmhouse underwent a complete renovation in the mid-90s, with recovery and use of ancient materials and the use of technology with the result of a typical Tuscan farmhouse which is modern at the same time. Constant maintenance over time makes it current and does not require any further work.
